## Indonesia at a glance

- **Wallet currency:** IDR
- **Hub:** Bali and Jakarta
- **Portal languages:** Indonesian and English
- **Suggested template:** Boutique for villa-led operators; Expedition for adventure and diving.

## How the trade works

Bali is a DMC market in the classic sense: operators hold direct contracts with villas, resorts and activity suppliers, and sell them to inbound agents in Australia, India, China and Europe. Rupiah figures are long, which makes a portal that formats and totals them correctly worth more than it sounds.

## What operators here are loading

Villas and resorts contracted per room type and season, day tours with fixed departure windows, and airport transfers between DPS and Ubud, Seminyak, Canggu and Nusa Dua — the routes that make up most of the volume.

## Worth knowing

The interface is available in Indonesian, so a local ops team is not forced to work in a second language.

## A classic DMC market, and the one day a year the island stops

Bali is a destination management market in the original sense: operators hold direct contracts with villas, resorts, activity suppliers and transport, and sell them to inbound agents in Australia, India, China, Singapore and Europe. The value is the contract and the ability to fix something in-destination on a Sunday, which is exactly the business a branded portal is supposed to carry rather than replace.

Nyepi is the operational fact no other market has. For twenty-four hours the island genuinely closes — the airport shuts, nobody travels, guests stay inside their property. A booking engine that cannot express "this product does not operate on this date, at all" will happily sell a transfer that cannot legally run, and somebody will find out at the airport.

Rupiah figures are long. Six and seven significant digits on every price is a small thing that becomes a large thing when a portal formats or totals them carelessly.

## What that needs from a portal

The catalogue is built around what a Bali operator actually contracts, and the calendar is something you close rather than something you hope nobody books.

- **Closed dates are enforced, not advisory.** Operating days and closures decide whether a product can be sold on a date; a price override can never force a closed date open.
- **Villas price the way they are contracted** — room type, rate plan, season, occupancy, with allotment and stop-sell per night.
- **DPS transfers are routes.** Ubud, Seminyak, Canggu, Nusa Dua and Uluwatu each behave differently on time and price, and a return leg is its own route rather than an assumed mirror.
- **Rupiah is formatted and totalled as rupiah**, in the agent's wallet and on the voucher, with integer minor units throughout so nothing rounds away.
