Nepal
B2B travel portal software in Nepal
Sell treks, tours, hotels and transfers to Indian and overseas agencies, each in the currency it pays in, under your own brand, with Kathmandu and Pokhara at the centre of it.
How the trade works in Nepal
Nepal's own tourism statistics count Indian citizens apart from third-country visitors, and the two behave like separate markets. India is the largest single source, and Indian arrivals by air run highest through the summer months, when third-country arrivals are at their lowest; everyone else peaks in October and again in March. An inbound house can be selling to both at once.
What Nepali operators are loading
Teahouse treks and expeditions sold as fixed departures with permits per person, Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan hotels, pilgrimage circuits taking in Pashupatinath and Lumbini, and the long road transfers that join them.
Hotels
Room type × rate plan × season, per-occupancy prices, allotment and stop-sell per night, supplements.
Tours & attractions
Options with their own capacity and operating days, time slots, age bands, add-ons, e-tickets.
Transfers
A route with two named ends — per vehicle when private, per seat when shared, with a night window.
Money and language, set the way Nepal works
Your books, your wallet and your prices stay in NPR, chosen once at setup so the ledger stays reconcilable; a partner agency can also buy in its own currency, at a rate frozen on each booking. Your portal reads in English and Hindi. Service dates and booking cut-offs are judged in the product city's own time zone, not yours.
Your Indian agents can read the portal in Hindi, set person by person, while the Kathmandu office stays in English. Nepali is not yet one of the 32 interface languages.
A pegged rupee and a floating dollar
Nepal Rastra Bank keeps the Nepalese rupee pegged to the Indian rupee as the anchor of its monetary policy, so its value against the dollar and the euro follows the Indian rupee's. A Kathmandu operator therefore has two kinds of buyer: an agency in Delhi or Lucknow, priced in rupees at a rate that does not drift, and an agency in Germany or the United States, priced against currencies that do.
Set both up as selling currencies. For the Indian rupee, type the rate yourself and date it rather than taking a daily market rate; for the dollar or the euro, take the platform's daily rate with a buffer you choose, which the agency never sees. Each agency then buys in one currency, its prices, statement and credit stay in it, and your own books stay in yours.
A trek is a departure, not a room
Most of what an inbound house sells has a start date, a group and a set of permits behind it.
- Treks as packages. A day-by-day programme with fixed departures, seats that count down, and a per-person price by room type and season.
- Permits as per-person extras. The Department of Tourism lists restricted-area permits per person, by area, by season and by length of stay; put yours on the package so they are quoted, not remembered.
- Your own questions at checkout. Ask each traveller for the passport details a permit needs; the answers are kept per traveller and printed on the supplier's copy when you mark them.
- A minimum to run, if you want one. Switch it on, set the minimum per trek and the day it is judged, and a morning notice lists the departures still short; the call stays yours.
Two calendars on the same dates
Because the Indian and third-country markets peak at different times, one national season table is wrong for half your buyers, so draw seasons per product instead. Where a hotel gives Indian agencies their own rate, a rate plan can be sold only to chosen markets, never to them, or to everyone with a percentage up or down for some, judged on the buying agency's country or on the lead guest's nationality, whichever you pick for that plan.
Pilgrimage is a business of its own. The ministry records it as a purpose of visit in its own right, beside holidays and trekking, and keeps separate visitor counts at Pashupatinath and Lumbini. Group circuits like these fit packages with fixed departures, and the hotel stays you sell print as a rooming list for each hotel and its dates.
